ARTISTS' MATTERS:A SYMPOSIUM FOR VISUAL ARTISTS
With Ellie Blankfort and Peter Clothier
An intensive day-long retreat offers artists an opportunity to review where they stand at this moment in their lives and in their studios. A carefully structured schedule includes a variety of experiences, including meditation, visualization, group work, and meaningful discussion, to address some of the basic questions confronting the working artist in his or her daily life.
| What is our mission, as artists and as human beings? Are we on track, or do we need to review the direction of our work? | |
| Are we clear about our short - and long-term goals, and are these goals congruent with our larger sense of mission? | |
| Is our in-studio process serving our current mission and goals, or do we need to make changes in the way we go about our work? | |
| Are we achieving the life-satisfaction we are looking for in our work? In what ways can we find greater satisfaction and accomplishment? | |
| How is our work communicating our intentions in the eyes of others? How can we refine it to communicate more clearly? | |
| Are we clear about our context in the community of art and artists? Are we comfortable with where we stand, or do we need to review our relationship with the world outside the studio? |
